"You've reached Matt's voicemail. Good for you. Leave a message or some digits and when Matt remembers what his cell phone looks like, he'll return your call. If this is an urgent matter or you just want a response sometime this decade, try calling the gallery. Peons know how to get ahold of Matt, always."

Not enough emotion to satisfy me

It's slippery slidey road down"

Dropped Frog off at the house this morning, haven't been up there since...ay, it's been a couple of years, at least. Still looks the same as I remember it, extra car I didn't recognize in the driveway though. That was something painful to accept. She had someone staying overnight--not like she isn't entitled, I know, but that was our house. I guess that's what to expect from the HoA, right? Never going to let anything out of the acceptable parameters exist in their safe little gated community. The view of the ocean is gorgeous, however and that so makes it worthwhile if you get to wake up to a sight like that every morning. It was the view that sold me on the place.

Vicky loved the garden. Still does, by the look of things. She wasn't up when I got there so I let Frog into the backyard and put the garden hose away so she wouldn't eat it. Made a beeline for the pond, crazy girl. Good thing we never got around to putting any koi in there. Hopefully, Frog hasn't torn the turf up or made a nuisance of herself. Vic wanted to see her and I'm not sure she knew exactly what she was getting. Not a puppy any longer but boy does she still think like one, Frog.

I had the displeasure of meeting Stuart while I was there. Stuart. She's dating some gringo named Stuart. Christ. I played nice even though my gut reaction was to knock the guy on his ass for the smug look as he stood there like he owned the place, owned her. She was my wife. Shit, hours later and I' still like to put my fist in his face. Who the hell are you? he asked me.

I told him I was Vicky's ex-husband (legally divorced but if you ask the church we were married in, she's still my wife. I never did file for an annulment. I can't. Won't.)and when the look on his face changed, I couldn't help but wonder what she'd told him about me. I hate that. Hate trying to be me and watch everyone judge who I am for what I am.

Damned good thing I was headed to a meeting from there. Really would have rather found myself an open liquor store. Almost a year without a drink and that's till the automatic response I have to getting pissed off. Fuck it, gimme a drink. I wonder if that's ever going to change.

I got so busy running from point A to point B and C, D, E and F that I wasn't able to make it back for Frog at a decent hour. I'll pick her up tomorrow some time. Miss Vic again, probably, since I know she's got work. At least I got some things done a little quicker without having to stop and take the dog out but it's damned weird being in this apartment alone. Since day one, it's been me and goofy Frog in this place. My girl. Part of me hopes Vic doesn't want to keep her again...I'm selfish.
